Christoffer Johnsen advises clients across the culture, media, sports, and entertainment sectors. His practice focuses on intellectual property law, media and marketing law, and commercial contract law. Johnsen supports Norwegian and international clients with the strategic management of rights, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.

Johnsen has particular expertise in the music industry. He advises record labels, music publishers, management, producers, and artists on music production, the commercialisation of music rights, and collective rights management. He also assists live venues and event organisers in connection with concerts and other events.

He also advises stakeholders in the sports industry, including professional football players, agents, and clubs. Johnsen has extensive experience handling transfers in top-level football, as well as proceedings before the Norwegian Football Arbitration Tribunal.

In addition, Johnsen advises a broad range of clients in audiovisual production, including film and television producers and video game studios. His work includes support with Chain of Title and Errors and Omissions (E&O), as well as advising on licencing and distribution agreements, collaboration agreements, and agreements with sponsors, investors, and other commercial partners.

Johnsen further supports start-up and scale-up companies on IP matters, including copyright, trademarks, patents, and trade secrets, with a particular focus on growth enablement and international commercialisation. He also advises on contractual frameworks and risk assessments related to the use of AI.
